Hi there!
First things first- I have not forgotten that I have a blog. As you may know, I’m student teaching this semester. My expectation going into this experience was that I would blog about it regularly and be well on my way to becoming the next Teacher Tom by now. But the truth is, this student teaching placement has been, well… less than inspirational. In my family we would say, “It’s nothin’ to write home about.” That is, unless I want this blog to become a huge collection of venting sessions, but no one wants to read that (Or at least I wouldn’t).
For now, I realize that I need to let go of my expectations and just continue blogging about things I’ve always blogged about- places I visit, food I eat, people I meet, and issues I wrestle with in my heart. I’ve given up a lot of time for personal things (like exercising) for the work I have to do in student teaching. In being so caught up in the work, I haven’t even blogged about getting pink eye, celebrating 1 year with my favorite guy, touching Mat Kearney’s back, and my new fascination with how fashion changes with the seasons (since I’m now living in a place where the seasons actually change!).
So instead of trying to change this little blog into something it’s not, I need to just let this space continue to be about life in general. Maybe it’s better that way anyway
And now… I’m finally going to share some photos from an important event- being in the same room as Sean Berdy from Switched at Birth! (Read my take on the show here) This Deaf heartthrob (who apparantly is only 18!?) was a guest on The John Maucere Talk Show- which is completely in ASL and was being filmed at Lexington School for the Deaf in Queens. My favorite guy was in town, so this was his first real Deaf event. There was a voice interpreter for the show, so he was able to follow along most of the time. He was so brave!

Oh, and all this was on the day that it snowed nonstop in NYC! It looked lovely outside the window. It's much more wonderful when you're looking out at it than shivering in it
Here’s to a new and hopefully inspirational week!

I saw that you commented on Cup of Jo’s giveaway for the necklace…I am doing a similar one & I think you would love it! Come check it out…
